Sri Lanka Golf Union (SLGU) will host the both tournaments with the aim to pick budding golfing talent in the island. According to the organizers, over 70 boys and girls have confirmed their participation at the Junior Open Championship and they expect the number to grow.

There will be three main age categories, Gold (15-17 years), Silver ( 11-14 years) and Bronze (10 and under) for the SL Junior Open C' ship where boys and girls will battle for supremacy. The overall winner will be crowned as Junior National Golf Champion for 2014.(ST/KH)
