Addressing the event the Premier explained the initiatives taken by Sri Lanka to upgrade the living conditions of the estate workers.

At the event the Sri Lankan Minister for Foreign Employment Thalatha Athukorala was appointed as the next Chair-in-office for next two years.

The Abu Dhabi Dialogue was established in 2008 and currently there are 18 member states including UAE, China, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka.

The Senior Officials Meeting was held yesterday (23rd Jan.).

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Kuwait, Hind Subaih Barak Al- Subaih, Director General of International Organization for Migration William Lacy Swing, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Employment, Sri Lanka Manusha Nanayakkara were also present.
