The President warmly welcomed the Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia and wished the Ambassador all the success during the tenure in Estonia.

Ambassador Rajapakse conveyed warm greetings from the President and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka to the President Kaljulaid.

President Kaljulaid expressed interest to acquire current information on the political situation in Sri Lanka.  The Ambassador apprised the President on the steps taken by the Government of Sri Lanka to strengthen democracy, rule of law, good governance and the reconciliation process undertaken by Sri Lanka.  Further, Ambassador Rajapakse mentioned that Sri Lanka intends to expand bilateral relations with Estonia including key areas of economy, trade, tourism, science and technology and in the multilateral arena on global issues.  President of the Republic of Estonia responded by stating that Estonia is equally interested in furthering relations between the two countries.
