    PM expresses satisfaction over operation Zarb-e-Azb

    During visit of North Waziristan, Nawaz Sharif lauded role of Army personnel who scarified lives for Pakistan.

     

    The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the successful ongoing operation against terrorists in North Waziristan Agency.

     

    Addressing army officers and jawans in Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan Agency on Thursday, he said the whole nation is happy over the achievements of the operation, Zarb-e-Azb. He said the nation is winning this war and the country will be become a safe country as a result of it.

     

    He said Pakistan army under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif is waging the war against terrorists in a proper manner. He said this is not a traditional war rather it is being fought against the invisible enemy.

    The Prime Minister lauded the role of those army officers and jawans who scarified their lives for the bright future of Pakistan. He said they are our national heroes.

     

    He also inspected the arms and ammunition captured by the security forces.  It includes rocket launchers, missile launchers and mines.

     

    Earlier, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif attended a briefing about operation Zarb-e-Azb.

     

    He was informed that 80 percent area of North Waziristan Agency has been cleared of terrorists. Mianshah, Datta Khel, Boya and Degan have been cleared of the terrorists.

     

    He was told that the security forces have also unearthed underground a headquarters of terrorists in North Waziristan Agency. It consists of seventy rooms.

     

    Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has visited the Miranshah, North Waziristan. Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif received him upon his arrival in Miranshah. 

     

    The Prime Minister was informed that the army is now engaged against terrorists in Ghulam Khan area near Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

     

    The army has sealed the border so that terrorists could not escape. About one thousand terrorists have been killed in the operation so far. Pakistan Army has captured a huge quantity of arms and ammunition.

     

    The briefing is also being attended by Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali, Minister for State and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan.

     

    This is the first ever visit of any Prime Minister to Miranshah.

     

    Pakistan Army launched operation against terrorists in the agency in June this year. Miranshah was cleared from terrorists in the initial stage of the operation.

     

    Mir Ali, Boya and Datta Khel Tehsils and Degan area  have also been cleared from terrorists.
