By recognizing the Palestinian State we intend to inject new energy to the peace negotiations, Wallstrom told the local press.
The minister added that her country is holding talks with Israel and Palestine about these matters and will deal with anyone that supports the recognition of the Palestinian State.

So far, more than 130 nations have recognized the Palestinian State, but Sweden is the only European Union country to do so.
A few days ago, the British House of Commons agreed to recognize Palestine as an independent State, in a historical resolution of great impact, even when the document is  not binding.
