India and Pakistan to Resume High-Level Talks

    February 26, 2015

Islamabad: India and Pakistan will resume high level talks between their Vice Foreign Affairs  Ministers in this capital next month, after negotiations came to a standstill last year due to tensions in Kashmir.

The two countries' diplomat sources were quoted by Dawn daily as saying that Indian Vice Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will probably visit Pakistan in the first week of March.

The parties said they are arranging the talks agenda. Peace negotiations between the two historical rivals have been at a standstill since January 2013, when troops guarding the common border in Kashmir had bloddy clashes.

Last year, when everything was pointing at a resumption of talks, clashes began to increase in August and New Delhi decided to cancel talks between the two Foreign Affairs Ministries scheduled for late that month by Islamabad.
