    A BOI enterprise at Flinth Induatrial Park granted UL certification Featured

    BOI approved Cable Solutions (Pvt) Limited's latest achievement is becoming the first cable manufacturing company in Sri Lanka to be granted the prestigious Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Certification for its products.

     

    The company announced that the first stage of the UL certification process has covered Single and Multiple Conductor Thermoplastic Insulation in 4 varieties of styles. Further approvals are imminent.  This achievement stands testament to Cable Solutions’ commitment to offering the highest standard of products and solutions to meet customer demand worldwide.

     

    UL is a US based global independent safety Science Company with more than a century of expertise. Dedicated to promoting safe living and working environments, UL helps safeguard people, products and places in important ways, facilitating trade and providing peace of mind.   UL product certification programs are accredited by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administrative, the American National Standards Institute and the Standards council of Canada.

     

    Since its inception in 2008, BOI approved Cable Solutions (Pvt) Limited, has engaged in the provision of world-class solutions in the application of cables and wires for the electrical and electronics industry.  The company is well known for its ability to deliver high quality customized cables to customers worldwide at competitive prices.

     

    Cable Solutions has its main production facility in Sri Lanka, located in the  Flinth Industrial Park, which is also a BOI enterprise a state-of-the-art Industrial environment set up by Swedcord Development, Sweden. The company exports to India, Australia and countries in Europe, and has recently begun exports to China. Locally, Cable Solutions supplies many leading businesses that have hitherto depended on imported cables. “Ours is not a business commonly associated with Sri Lanka” says Managing Director Pawan Tejwani, “High end electronics is a relatively new industry here, and we are delighted to have been able to put Sri Lanka on the map, and contribute to the local economy by demonstrating how successful and innovative Sri Lankans can be in terms of designing and creating these types of solutions.” 

     

    Speaking about the certification Mr Tejwani said “The UL certification is a seal of approval in terms of our quality and safety standards, and signifies the superior nature of our products. We are very proud of this achievement. We already possess ISO Certification for our Quality Management Systems, and the UL Marks and Certification will enhance the image of our products, increasing the trust in, and value of them, globally. Credit for this achievement must go to our staff. Their hard work, dedication and expertise make obtaining certifications like this one a reality, and I thank them sincerely for their efforts.”

     

    In addition, the company is the only one in Sri Lanka to have been granted the SAE J-1128 automotive standard. SAE stands for the Society of Automotive Engineers, the American group that establishes and maintains the standards for American automotive components and manufacturing. The specifications for this standard are extremely rigid, and certification can only be obtained following stringent testing.
