State Minister of Agriculture Wasanta Aluvihare during an inspection tour recently in the Matale District said that adequate funds have been allocated to repair them.  He requested the officers concerned to take immediate steps to implement an effective programme to carry out repairs to dilapidated tanks and canals as well as to restore abandoned irrigation works.

 

 

The Minister was accompanied by Asst.Commissioner of Agrarian Services P.G.Somaratne and former Matale Provincial Council Leader of the Opposition Gamini Costa.
