The Minister speaking at a function held at the Anuruddhagama Primary School at Kurundugaha-hethepma in Karandeniya said that it is timely to direct attention towards children as people talk more about children nowadays. He requested the elders, parents and teachers to display their affection towards children and also to look into their safety.

The function was organized under the patronage of the Ven. Panaamure Thapassi Thera, Head of the Abhayarama Vidarshana Medication Centre in England to distribute shoes among school children. Parliamentarian Wijepala Hettiarachchi was present.
