The project expects to give a high income for women entrepreneurs in the area and has planned to bring an international value to their plantations by exports.
This program implemented under a concept of the Minister of Primary Industries Daya Gamage also expects to generate an income of Rs.1 billion to the national economy while strengthening one million women engaged with it.
Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Anoma Gamage addressing the inauguration ceremony said that the purpose of implementing the projects is to economically strengthen and to encourage women without a huge commitment or an obligation.
According to industry sources there is considerable demand for Anthurium flowers in the Middle East these exporters are most likely to cater to that demand with the technical assistance received from the Government.
