He made these remarks addressing the awarding ceremony of the Sri Lanka Blog writers held on Saturday (26th March) at the Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media auditorium.

Speaker said that the modern media are possible to have a huge stimulus to make the society a transparent one under this act.

According to the Speaker, the media is like a sharp knife which could be used to help or harm the society or the people. “Therefore felicitating those who using it for the betterment of the people is very important”, he added.

“I suppose this field should reach the children living in the rural areas with the right guidance of your expertise,” said the Speaker who wanted Sri Lankan youth to follow the local trends.
