The Minister mentioned this while attending a media workshop on the theme empowering democracy for development by waking up the voice of the citizens.

Speaking on the occasion Minister Gayantha Karunatilake said that the technology mixed with media, has converted the viewer also to a media personality.

The workshop has been organized with the aim of creating an independent journalist by resolving issues at rural level.

The workshop was held under the patronage of Minister Gayantha Karunatilaka at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo. Several Heads of Media Organizations attended the conference.
