According to the Department of Meteorology, showers or thundershowers will occur over most provinces today (10th May) after 2.00 p.m.

Heavy falls (above 100 mm) are also likely at some places and the showers are expected in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces in the morning too.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
