Sri Lanka Army troops apprehended a stock of illicitly-felled satinwood logs from the jungles in the Madu Forest Reserve on Wednesday (01st June 2016) in Madu.
During routine patrol Commando troops of the 611 Brigade had found an abandoned tractor, a trailer and 17 satinwood logs. Troops have alerted forestry officials and had handed over the stock of logs to proceed with onward legal procedures. Army troops had found several such similar illegal timber rackets in the Madu area in the past three months.
