Accordingly, 150 modern dental chairs, 200 televisions with health promotional video clips, and medical equipment packs to treat Fluorosis were distributed on this occasion.
Addressing the occasion, minister Seanarathne said that a new dental hospital attached to the National Hospital, Colombo will be established in the future at a cost of Rs. 1,300 million. The second phase of this hospital will be allocated Rs. 1,500 million. As well, the Colombo National Hospital will also be developed with all the facilities and a dental hospital attached to the Karapitiya teaching hospital will also be established.
The minister further said that the Karapitiya teaching hospital will be developed at a cost of Rs. 9,000 million and added that the Bone marrow transplant surgeries have also commenced at Apeksha Hospital Maharagama, and Kandy General Hospital.
