    Increase in showery weather

    A slight increase in the prevailing showery weather in the South western part of the island is expected today (7th Aug.), Met. Department said.

    Cloudy skies can be expected at most parts of the island.

     

    The possibility for increasing the wind speed over southern half of the island and Western and Southern sea areas is still persist.

     

    Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts and several spells of showers will occur at North-western province and in the Jaffna district.

     

    Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva, Eastern and North-central provinces and in the Vauniya and Mullaitivu districts after 2.00 p.m.

     

    Heavy falls (above 75 mm) can be expected at some places in the Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts.
