Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Potuvil to Mullaitivu via Trincomalee. Showers or thundershowers may occur in the other sea areas around the island in the evening or night. Winds will be North-easterly and wind speed will be 15-30 kmph in the sea area extending from Potuvil to Kankasanturai via Batticaloa and Trincomalee. Winds will be Westerly or variable over other sea areas around the island and wind speed will be 10-20 kmph.

Rainy condition is expected to enhance over the island during next few days (Particularly 18th & 19th November). Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island after 2.00p.m. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm may occur at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces. Showers may occur in the Eastern province and in Jaffna and Mullaitivu districts in the morning too. Misty conditions may occur at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces during the morning. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
