    European film Festival screens today 'Pater' and 'The Invisible Woman'

    Now in its seventh consecutive year in Sri Lanka, European Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Colombo which travels to other Sri Lankan cities afterwards. This festival is a shared international cultural experience that aims to promote a friendly relationship and to increase the mutual understanding between European Nations and Sri Lanka through film.

    The organising committee of the festival is chaired by the European Union Delegation in Colombo and coordinated by Agenda 14 which is a not-for-profit film community in Sri Lanka.

     

    The European Film Festival was jointly organised by the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka and by Alliance Francaise, British Council, Goethe Institut, Polish institute in New Delhi, Institut Francais in Paris, Royal Embassy of Denmark in New Delhi, Embassy of France, Embassy of Italy, Embassy of the Netherlands, Embassy of Finland, Consulate of Slovakia, Consulate of Poland and Embassy of Switzerland in Sri Lanka.

     

    The festival in Colombo will run from 27 November to 5 December 2014 at the National Film Corporation Cinema, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7. The travelling festival will be held from 23 to 25 January 2015 in Horana at Sripalee Campus of University of Colomboin and from 06 to 08 February 2015 in Jaffna at the University of Jaffna. Entrance to events are free.

     

    The screening schedule for today (29) is:
    3.30pm - Pater (France)
    6.30pm - The Invisible Woman (United Kingdom) (More suitable for adults)
