The national ceremony to distribute school text books for 2015 will be held at the Sanghamittha Balika Vidyalaya in Galle on Monday (Dec.01). The ceremony will be held under the auspices of the Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena.
The Education Minister said that the President is the only leader who took a policy decision based on the Mahinda Chinthana that all schools should be transformed into popular schools and that the children should be provided better education no matter in which school they study.
Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal De Silva and Southern Province Education Minister Chandima Rasaputhra will also grace this event.
