The Government has spent Rs. 2,883 million to provide free uniform material to four million students for 2015.
It is expected to distribute around 11.2 million yards of uniform material required for students under the categories of frocks, shirts, trousers and perdas ( for muslim students).

According to the Education Ministry necessary school uniform sets have already been distributed to all schools Island-wide.

Altogether, 10,012 schools in 98 educational zones countrywide would benefit.
