The inauguration ceremony on June 16 will be held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at "Ape Gama" at 10am, while the concluding ceremony on June 17 will be held at 2pm. under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.

Also an awareness walk with the participation of 400 students representing 20 students from 07 SAARC countries and others from all nine provinces will start from the Education Ministry premises on June 16 at 8am under the patronage of Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and proceed toewards "Ape Gama".

The workshop is jointly organized by Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage Ministry and Education Ministry in collaboration with Health Ministry, Mass Media and Information Ministry, National Water Supply and Drainage Board, National Community Water Supply Department, Regional Centre of Sanitation, United Nations Children's Fund and PLAN Sri Lanka.

Promoting water, sanitation and Hygiene among schoolchildren is the main objective of the workshop.
