    Cabinet approved to continue ACCS

    Cabinet of the Ministers has approved to continue the operations of the Anti-corruption Committee Secretariat (ACCS) until a new institutional structure is introduced.

     

    The ACCS was established in 2015 on a Cabinet decision to receive and facilitate complaints on serious fraud and corruption. According to the proposed structure, the ACCS as a fully-powered Serious Fraud Office, which is similar to the Serious Frauds Office in UK.

     

    The proposal to continue operations of the ACCS was made by the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
