The One-day Identity Card service of the Registration of Persons Department will be temporarily suspended from today (17), said the Department of Registration of Persons  Commissioner Viyani Gunatillake.

The main office and the Southern Province office will suspend its one day ID issuance until further notice, but the regular service will continue without any hindrance.

However, in the event there is an urgent need to obtain an identity card only, one’s identity could be certified by the relevant Grama Seva officer of the area and the application  could be submitted, the Commissioner-General said.
