Unilever Sri Lanka donated 4000 personal protection kits to be used by the staff caring for the infected patients and a stock of thermometers. The donation was handed over to the Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi by the Marketing Director of Unilever Aruna Mavilmada. The stock of PPE kits and thermometers is Rs. 4.5 million.
In addition, Dialog Axiata Pvt. Ltd. Donated telecommunication and teleconferencing equipment worth 2 million with the aim of providing protection to the doctors, nurses and other medical staff treating COVID-19 patients. This equipment enables users to conduct long-distance communication and teleconferencing. The Head of the Sustainable Division of Dialog Axiata Charitha Ratwatte handed over this stock of equipment to the Health Minister today.
A.D. Perera and Sons, an electric and mechanical contract company donated 1,555 surgery kits to be used by medical staff and 40 surgery beds valued at over 3 million.
Former MP Duminda Silva also donated a stock of face shields valued at Rs. 300,000 to be used for the protection of the doctors, nurses and medical staff attending to COVID-19 patients.
The Sri Lanka Engineering Company also donated a stock of personal protection clothing worth over Rs. 500,000.
