All examination centres safe – Examinations Commissioner General

    October 11, 2020

Examinations Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha said that all examination centres where the year five scholarship and the GCE A/L examinations are being held are all safe.

He said this during a media briefing announcing the health measures being implemented for the examinations today and tomorrow.

He said that in areas where the quarantine curfew is enforced special examination centres have been set up. The scholarship examination starts at 9.30 am and students are required to report to their respective centres by 8.30 am.

Although students are expected to be at the examination centres by 9.00 am, due to the prevailing pandemic situation, students have been adviced to report to the centres early.

All students in quarantine will have special facilities where their answer scripts would be collected separately. Currently, there are five students receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) while two of them are confirmed cases and a special examination centre would be set up for them.

The Education Ministry has specified a special plan for their identification and they are required to wear their national student identification approved by the Education Ministry on the left side of their attire, the Secretary noted.
