Minister of Transport, Gamini Lokuge stated that a total of 1192 buses of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, 21 additional trains, 58 additional train journeys, and 1800 additional private buses have been deployed in this regard. Moreover, these special buses and trains will be in operation from 9th April (today) to 16th April in addition to the normal schedules.

However, the relevant authorities including chairmen and officials dealing with the SLTB trains and private buses will be regulating the said program from the Pettah Central Bus Stand.

Minister Lokuge further added that the number of buses deployed during the festival season is doubled this year due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and he requested the public to properly maintain the Covid-19 guidelines when using public transportation.
