The President after opening the Welanai Electricity Consumer Services Centre, commissioned the Delft Electricity Supply Scheme through skype technology from the same venue.

The Government incurred 7 million rupees for the Welanai Electricity Consumer Services Centre while the amount spent for Delft Elecltlricity Supply Scheme was 50 million rupees.

With the commissioning of the new Electricity Supply Scheme the electricity supply to Delft Island will increase from 40% to 99% from today.

Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W.D.J.Senevirathna, Northern Province Governor G.A.Chandrasiri, Chairman of Sabaragamuwa Province Kanchana Jayarathna and Chairman of CEB W.B.Ganegala were present on the occasion.
